Chigwell & District Dart League
Rules

1]. The League shall be known as the Chigwell & District Darts League. Membership shall be open to Social Clubs as the League Committed shall deem.

2]. The League Committee shall consist of one representative from each team. The officers of the League shall be extra to any representative elected from their teams.

3]. The Officers of the Committee shall consist of a Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, Fixture Secretary, and Competition Secretary, who shall be elected annually at the Annual General Meeting. Such Officers shall have full voting rights at Committee Meetings and at an Annual General Meeting. In the event of a tie, the Chairperson shall have an additional casting vote.

4]. At any Annual General Meeting of the League, all bona-fide members of all teams have the right to vote individually.

5]. Entry fees for 12 players per team, for the League and the two K.O. Competitions, shall be as decided at the Annual General Meeting. Such sums shall be deposited with the League Treasurer on or before a date decided at the Annual General Meeting. Any additional players over the 12 will be charged at £2.00 per registration. In the event of a tam resigning from the League, no monies will be returnable.

6]. There shall be no limit on the number of layers registered with any team, but no new players shall be registered after the 31st December annually. A full list of players’ names and signatures shall be deposited with the Fixture Secretary before the first league game and no player will be allowed to play in the League unless the registration has been accepted by the Fixture Secretary and confirmed to the team secretary. All players must be fully paid up members of the club for whom they wish to register. Additional players signatures, to be with and confirmed by the Fixture Secretary 7 days prior to playing.

7]. The height of the board shall be 5’ 8” from centre of bull to floor level, and the length of throw shall be 7’ 9 1/4” from the rear edge of the raised oche

8]. All matches shall be played as shown on the fixture list, unless a change is mutually agreed between both teams and this has been confirmed by the Fixture Secretary.

9]. Should any team resign from the League in the first half of the season, all points involved will be null and void. Should a team resign in the second half of the season, the first half season’s points will stand, and the second half will be null and void.

10]. The board shall be either elm or bristle and will be a clock board with doubles and trebles.

11]. The two captains will agree a caller and chalker prior to commencing play. If the captains cannot agree, it is the home team who provide chalker and caller. No darts should be removed from the board prior to the score being called and agreed. The caller’s decision will be final in the event of any dispute.

12]. When signing result sheets, all players must print their names as well as providing a signature. It is the responsibility of the home captain to ensure that the result sheet is signed by all players participating in the match prior to commencement. At the end of the match, both captains will sign the result sheet agreeing the result. It is the home team’s secretary’s responsibility to ensure that the result is forwarded to the Fixture Secretary by the following Tuesday. Teams consistently late in forwarding results will be deducted 3 points.

13]. All matches will commence at 8:45 pm promptly. Open board will be called for visiting team at 8:30 pm.

14]. In the event of a dispute arising from a match, this must be forwarded in writing to the League Secretary within seven days of the match. The matter will be put before the League Committee and their decision will be binding in all cases.

15]. In the event of a dispute arising through inclement weather conditions, i.e. fog, snow, and ice, if the two opposing captains cannot agree, then the League Chairman, or in his absence the League Secretary, would make the final and binding decision on whether or not it was unreasonable to expect a team to travel in such conditions.

16]. Once a player has registered and played for a team, he shall not be eligible to play for any other team in that season. Should any player registered but not played for any team, he may transfer provided that his previous registration and his new registration have been approved by the Fixture Secretary.

17]. LEAGUE COMPETITION (FORMAT)
The League Competition consists of 2 FOURS, 4 PAIRS, 8 SINGLES AND A FINAL FOUR with a DRAW to determine the order of play. No team may play in any match unless they have at least six players present. In the event of a team failing to have at least six players at 8:45 pm on the day of the match, 10 points to be awarded to the opponents. An away team not arriving to be fined £6.00 towards cost of food. Only if the home team provide food. Away team to throw first then alternately.
If a team is short of players, they will forfeit matches accordingly i.e. with 2 players short they can only name 3 pairs and 6 six singles. The first 2 fours they can only play 3, the third four they can name four players.
FOURS This will consist of three games 1 leg each of 701 straight start double finish, one point for each leg.
PAIRS This will consist of four games 1 leg each of 601 straight start double finish one point for each leg.
SINGLES This will consist of eight games 1 leg each of 501 straight start double finish one point for each leg.
Any player arriving after 9:00 pm cannot play in that evenings match.
The maximum amount of points that may be won by any team in a match will be 15. All points to count towards the League Championship. In the event of a tie at the end of the season, there will be a play off to decide the title or runners-up. Toss of coin for first throw in play off. Any play off to be played first week after season ends. A trophy will be awarded to the League winners and runners-up these will be retained for one year. The League winners and runners-up will be awarded 12 miniature trophies each to be retained.

18]. KNOCK OUT CUP – 9 A-SIDE
There will be a knock out competition played annually for the Heineken Cup. This will consist of 9 SINGLES (best of 3 legs) of 501 – DOUBLE START. The names of the nine players will be handed to and written up by opposing captains. Thereafter no alterations can be made. A draw by numbers will then be made to determine order of matches. Should any team not provide nine players they will forfeit that number of singles. Minimum number of players being six. Away team to throw first. A trophy will be awarded to the winners to be retained for one year. There will be 12 miniature trophies for the winners and runners-up each to be retained.

19]. KNOCK OUT CUP – 8 A-SIDE
There will be a knockout competition played annually for the Holsten Pils Cup. This will consist of TWO FOURS of 701, FOUR PAIRS of 601, EIGHT SINGLES of 501 and ONE EIGHT of 1001. Games will be of one leg only, each leg gaining 1 point. The names of the eight players will be handed to and written up by the opposing captains. The only alterations to original order are if a substitute player is used. He/she will only be permitted to play in the position of the replaced player. The replaced player will not be allowed to play again. A trophy will be awarded to the winners to be retained for one year. There will be 12 miniature trophies for the winners and runners-up each to be retained.

20]. ALTERATIONS TO COMPETITION ENTRIES
Additions or alterations to any of the competition entries will only be ACCEPTED SEVEN DAYS prior to the date of that competition. Once a draw has been made for the venues of any competition:

21]. COMPETITION ENTRIES AND FEES
All entries and the competition fees must be paid to the League Treasurer by the December Meeting without fail.
21a]. COMPETITION SIGNING IN TIMES
All entrants must be registered at the competition by 8:25pm for an 8:30 draw. Late entrants will be withdrawn.

22]. INDIVIDUAL KO COMPETITION
There shall be an individual KO competition open to all registered players. A draw will be made for the first round allocating players to various venues. Each match to be the best of 3 legs of 501 straight start double finish. There will be one draw for each found, and one toss for each match. There will be a trophy awarded to the winner to be retained for one year. There will be miniature trophies for the winner and runner-up to be retained.

23]. LADIES INDIVIDUAL KO COMPETITION
There shall be an individual KO competition open to all registered ladies. (Same Rules as Rule 22).

24]. CAPTAIN’S KO COMPETITION
There shall be an individual KO competition for team captains named on entry form. (Same Rules as Rule 22).

25]. DELEGATE’S KO COMPETITION
There shall be an individual KO competition for League Delegates. Named team secretaries and officers of the League. (Same Rules as Rule 22).

26]. PAIRS KO COMPETITION
There will be a pairs KO competition open to all registered league players. The pair to consist of players from the team. A draw will be made for the first round allocating players to various venues. Each match to be the best of 3 legs of 601 straight start double finish. There will be one draw for each round and one toss for each match. There will be a trophy awarded to the winners to be retained for one year. There will be miniature trophies for the winners and runners-up to be retained.

27]. MIXED PAIRS KO COMPETITION
There will be a mixed pairs KO competition open to all registered league players. Their partner may be a non-registered player or a player from another team. The entry must have two names, e.g. an entry such as “………/and partner” is not acceptable. There will be a trophy for the winners to be retained for one year. There will be miniature trophies for the winners and runners-up to be retained. (Same Rules as Rule 26).

28]. FOURS KO COMPETITION
There will be a fours KO competition open to all registered league players from any one team. A draw will be made allocating players to various venues. Each match to be best of 3 legs of 701 straight start double finish, one toss of the coin. There will be a draw to determine the matches. Each four may have one named reserve, which must be named along with the other four players. Any four of the five named players may play in any leg or any round. There will be a trophy awarded to the winners to be retained for one year. There will be miniature trophies for the winners and runners-up to be retained.

29]. COMPETITION FEES
There will be a charge of £1.00 entry fee for each player in, fours, pairs, mixed pairs, individuals and ladies individuals. Competition fees must be paid to the League Treasurer prior to the start of competitions. Players from any team failing to have paid – will not be entered.

30]. LEAGUE MEETINGS
The League Committee shall meet as agreed at each meeting. The venue for League Meetings to be agreed at the AGM. All decision of the League Committee shall be decided by a straight majority vote. This will apply to new team applications at the AGM. Any team not represented at a League Meeting to fined £2.00

31]. There shall be a Presentation Dance held annually, on a date and at a venue decided by the League Committee.

32]. Motions for rule changes to be forwarded in writing to the League Secretary one month before the AGM. The proposed motions will be published three weeks before the AGM. No motions can be accepted from the floor at the AGM.

33]. None of the league rules shall be rescinded or amended, nor shall any new rules be passed other than by a majority vote at an AGM. The League Committee however has the authority to introduce and amend rules which will be in force for that season only, then to be ratified at the next AGM
